Now, this is one of my favourite books of 2017 and today, I wanted to do a little throwback to not only 2017 but to where this blog all began with my 18 Books To Celebrate Pride 2018 series, where this was one of my choices.
They Both Die At The End:

On September 5th, a little after midnight, Death-Cast calls Mateo Torrez and Rufus Emeterio to give them some bad news: they’re going to die today. Mateo and Rufus are total strangers, but for different reasosn, they’re both looking for a new friend on their End Day. The good news: there’s an app for that. It’s called the Last Friend, and through it, Rufus and Mateo are about to meet up for one last great adventure – to live a lifetime in a single day.
My Thoughts:
This book was just phenomenal. It just was incredibly powerful and moving.
I loved how the seemingly insignificant characters around the two protagonists got their own chapters, or sub-plots, that just created this multi-faceted story that bought so many peoples’ lives together. It reminded me of The Sun Is Also a Star, that follows this same type of writing, which is another great read.
It was a real celebration of life, love and how easily it all can be taken away. I adored how it encouraged you to live life to the full everyday, because you never know how long it’ll last. This message really struck a chord with me and I think it will with many other readers as well. It really reminded me of his previous book, History Is All You Left Me and I would definitely recommend this book if you loved that one.
DeathCast was such a smart idea that added so much to the creation of the futuristic world that I adored and really want Silvera to explore in future books.
Simply put, I demand more of this clever and intriguing world.

I’ve read all of his solo ones and am now currently reading What If It’s Us after meeting him and Becky on Friday. I hope you get round up the others, but they are also so heartbreaking but beautiful.
